After working as a barista in Chicago, I ventured west to San Diego where I helped open and manage a café in downtown, and though the west coast was truly one of the most amazing places I had ever been, the heartbeat of the Midwest (and in particular Chicago) beckoned me back. Ten years later, I can proudly say what we have built as a team is something that I cherish at my core, and I truly can’t wait to see what the next ten years and beyond have in store. The location is closing so Millman and his team can focus on the Goose Island cafe and open a second one in the same building as the roastery at 328 N. Albany Ave., which has been a long time coming, the owner wrote on social media.

The amount of care, attention, and hard work that goes into producing quality coffee; getting it from the ground to the cup; is something we are very passionate about and take serious. In addition to overseeing the whole roasting works, he invests a lot of time building relationships with farms and importers all over the world. Go Get Em Tiger is the growing coffee empire by Kyle Glanville and Charles Babinski, a duo whose original G&B Coffee stall just so happens to be its own staple at Grand Central Market. With eight locations currently running throughout the city, Go Get Em Tiger has fast become a hometown chain with consistency, but with enough charm and nuance at each outpost to keep things fresh. Customers can choose from to-go goods and grab-and-go bottles of house-made cold brew, or take a patio seat to take in the funky, fun spaces with pastries, brunchy bites and retail items.

I’d like to say I turn off, but I’m not sure I can say that honestly, and though sometimes it’s exhausting, the wheel is turning and it doesn’t seem to ever slow down. Whether at a concert or club, I’m able to disconnect just enough and the music serves as a primary source of what drives my thoughts, emotions and ideas. Whether by myself listening to headphones, DJing a party or in a sea of thousands of people, music has a way of resonating through my entire body and I truly feel as though I am as centered as ever. Music eases my fears, shepherds my thoughts through the darkest corners and valleys of my existence and reminds me to be nicer to myself and practice self-love, which seems to have a direct effect on how I treat the people that are part of my life. Passion House opened its first cafe in 2017 in Logan Square.

You can find them stashed in the monthly coffee boxes, or drop by either the Silver Lake or West Hollywood locations for a full espresso menu, neon-lit settings and, of course, whatever the daily selection of these faves might be. Expect tonics and canned coffees and bubbly shrub sodas in addition to every classic coffee drink you could want, as well as home equipment, trendy merch and pastries. In a big way—especially in its new-ish Arts District location, a 7,000-square-foot, two-story café and coffee roastery that's now the L.A. The all-day menu here features a flexible kind of global cuisine, not to mention a handful of truly good coffee-based mocktails exclusive to that space. Hyper curated and hyper technical, Highland Park's Kumquat Coffee is a caffeine lover's paradise.

But when we get down to the nitty gritty, the team we have built at Passion House is the thing I am most proud of. People are the lifeblood of this company, and their commitment to each other, the product and creating the best experience for all is what we strive to achieve every day. We are proud to serve you at one of our two locations (Goose Island & Logan Square), and our Roastery in East Garfield Park will soon be open to the public as a café as well. We look forward to meeting each and every one of you, and are so appreciative of the customers that continue to show that what we’re doing has value and impact. Formerly a private home, Aroma Coffee & Tea Company transformed itself into a darling café where you can grab a coffee, slice of cake or full-on meal. The expansive coffee and tea menu caters to everyone, from the espresso lover to the chai-latte enthusiast.

Last month, it opened another cafe inside Politan Row, the West Loop food hall that shares a building with McDonald’s Corporation’s headquarters. Later this year, Passion House will move its roasting operations from Fulton Market to East Garfield Park. They’re sharing the facility with Veteran Roasters, a company that helps vets get jobs after their time in the armed forces. At Passion House, we strive to create balanced and complex coffees with our meticulous method of sourcing beans from farms around the world and roasting them by hand on a vintage 1957 German Probat cast-iron roaster. Over the last two decades, coffee has taken me around the globe, exposing me to various cultures that will forever have an impact on my life.

The purpose of Coffee Spaces USA is to serve as an informational resource to help people discover specialty coffee shops, support local businesses and connect with their community. Well for Mad Lab, one of Downtown's top roasters, the name says it all. At the Hollywood window, simply stroll up and order from the menu or let whoever's behind the counter whip something up special for you while you nosh on fresh Clark Street pastries.

Millman did not reply to further requests for comment but previously told Block Club opening the East Garfield Park cafe fit his goal of investing into the community and providing a space for people to connect. Tourists and Westsiders might wait in long lines at Intelligentsia up the street, but Silver Lake locals prefer Cafecito, the quieter shop up on Hoover. Here you’ll find less pretension and more privacy, not to mention an ethos that's all about sustainability and social justice. The shop is small, with only a bit of counter space inside, but a spacious and pet-friendly patio makes for a good place to get work done, catch up with friends or make eyes at your neighbor. Street parking can be tough to find, but bike racks abound for two-wheeled commuters. This location is in a strip mall-looking building complete with a parking lot.

FRESH ROASTS OUT NOW

All four cafés also have Wi-Fi, charging outlets and at least a few couches, and the Redondo Beach flagship has the most space and outdoor seating. Named after a competitive French cycling term, this small bike-friendly coffee shop in Culver City offers excellent breakfast burritos, market-priced single-origin matcha and a deep commitment to the surrounding community. Super Domestic's larger Washington Boulevard sister spot, Mañana Coffee, also sells a bevy of plants and other assorted artisan goods. Both coffee shops roast their own beans and make all alternative milks and syrups in-house, for quality you can taste in every sip. Although this site is regularly updated, the information displayed is subject to change and is not guaranteed to be accurate.

The barista provided wonderful descriptions of the tea flavors and was very enthusiastic about their products. They have authentic, loose-leaf black tea, green tea, herbal tea, and white tea with incredibly complex flavors. We also find ways to continually connect with our community, and our coffee collaborations with various partners and non-profits is a key component of who we are and what we value most. Music and Chicago culture are at the center of the inspiration for Passion House. In my day-to-day life, I am constantly analyzing my actions, my coffee, my food, my words and how I collaborate and connect with people.

As a newer edition to Logan Square, Passion House Coffee Roasters does not disappoint. Located in the former Bow Truss Coffee Roasters space, Passion House has a minimal aesthetic with hip and trendy plant decor. They have a small counter area to sit at along with a medium-sized backroom and a small outdoor patio area. Formerly known as Farm Girl, Flor del Sol is our offering of sunshine and warm, Midwestern hospitality.

If development on Goose Island picks up, Passion House could be seen as a pioneer. The prospect of pouring more coffee to Chicagoans excites Millman as he continues to build his company. I grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago, and inspired by the Beatnik generation and their commitment to community and conversation, I chose to immerse myself in everything that Chicago had to offer.

Therefore it is important that each coffee has it’s own unique roast profile which truly expresses the inherent quality. Finding unique coffee takes our search all over the map to bring you a quality cup from truly special people. We have developed relationships with farmers and importers that dedicate their time to the intense care needed to grow, process and source unique coffee with carefully developed flavor profiles. We make it easy for you to enjoy some of the world’s greatest and rarest coffees brewed up in our cafe or in the privacy of your own home. Part coffee shop, part subscription service, Dayglow is all about showcasing its favorite independent and up-and-coming roasters from around the world.

A new school take on the classic dark roast!

Passion House’s cafe will take up about 1,200 square feet; it’s slightly larger than Logan Square. They’ll have a full menu of items including overnight oats, and a vegetable tartine. Vegetarians can try a tartine instead of a veggie sandwich (Millman said bland sandwiches are often menu staples at many coffee shops).

Last but certainly not least, Experimental coffees are where we try and put a little bit of our own innovative stamp on the coffee world. All of our coffees are available by subscription, and whether you want 12 ounce bags for some variety or find your flavor and roll deep with our 5 pound bags, we’re here to make sure you have exactly what you love to get your day going. No matter which location you visit, the beans at Boy & the Bear get roasted three times a week, which makes a major difference in the quality of each cup.

Choose the length of time, and we’ll make sure they love each Groundwork delivery. Finally- our first bundle that includes three of our best-selling, Certified Organic coffees at a discounted price. As a part of our commitment to the planet's long-term health, we have embarked on an exciting initiative to source new Regenerative Organic Certified® coffees. Roundhouse opened in February by Uproar Hospitality Group, the same group that operated now-closed Uproar in Old Town. It served American comfort food with an Asian twist, such as cheeseburger egg rolls and Italian beef fried rice. LOGAN SQUARE — Fans of Passion House Coffee Roasters have until the end of the month to visit the tea and coffee spot in Logan Square.
