I was welcomed by sales consultant Jamie Power who was very accomodating in what I wanted to build and was knowledgeable when it came to the estate in which I was planning to build in. That expertise stood out from the other builders I had discussions with about potentially building on my block. I decided to go ahead with Simonds not long after those initial conversations plus other discussions I had had with friends who had also buil... I cannot rate our Simonds Gallery experience highly enough. From the moment we stepped foot in the Geelong office we were made to feel welcome and relaxed.

My construction supervisor was Glenn Trembath who was extremely professional and knowledgeable, Glenn and the team made it a flawless experience. I would highly recommend building with Simonds and utilising the same team as I did. The incomplete work consist of large cracks and holes in brickwork, missing steps to doors, AC not mounted, uncovered cavities etc. The worst defects include severely deformed framework that has resulted in uneven walls and floors and internal cracks after only 4 weeks. When I asked the builders to fix the framework over 7 months ago they covered all the framework with drywall in a single Saturday and claimed the defects were fixed.

They started off well with friendly sales staff and a smoothly run gallery appointment but it started to go downhill when getting close to build. Our Customer Relationship Co-ordinator at the time tried to tell me that the retaining wall between us and our neighbour had to come down. I wasted the better part of 2 weeks trying to get a hold of the neighbour's Site Supervisor who told Simonds that the wall did not need to come down at all as there should be plenty of room for Si... This is our first time build with Simonds in Traralgon, and our supervisor Chris Demicoli was amazing. He always ensured that we were well informed every step of the way. There is no financial or criminal background check performed on general contractors by the TDLR.

Although they do not require contractors to have construction training, contractors are required to pass a Board exam prior to receiving their license. Several of the corners in the house have cracks, been repaired by Simmons with caulk, and cracked again. The tiled floors in our house are uneven; we submitted this to the warranty. They refused to even look at the others, saying we were too picky. There is 1 place that still has a ¼” difference from the adjacent tile. The header for the front porch is rotting and will soon need repaired. The concrete driveway has cracks extensive cracks that were caused by poor workmanship.
